what chamber?

I am about to buy a new Rem 870 pump 12ga. The chambers available run
2-3/4in to 3-1/2. For all around use which is best? Will the 3-1/2in take all 3 sizes and would that be the choice or is there an advantage to one size over the others?

The 3 1/2" will fire all the 2 3/4" and 3" shells. Id get the 3 1/2" even if you never plan to use it. If your shooting steel shot or turkeys the extra pellets in 3 1/2" shells helps.
