Well I'll try again this is some images (links to images) of my home made tumbler and loading table.

The tumbler is made from 3/4" plywood base, with a fan motor I was given with pulley's and all, I drilled four holes in the plywood sides and inserted 3/4" sealed bearings which I epoxied in place and used 3/4" wooden dowels for the large pulley to attach to and the bottle to ride on, the bottle is about a 1.5 gallons it's a bottle that was filled with dog treats from Walmart. I've used it a few times now and it works great, my brass is glimmering like gold :) Oh I almost forgot I used two strips of double sided tape on the bottle for grip, I rolled it over an old blanket after I put it on the bottle so it wouldn't be as sticky.

And the table is nice and sturdy and easy to move around if I need to.

17asleep - Great idea, but how about making manufacture a little simpler?

Get a flat piece of plastic, shape it and drill it.

Lay it over a piece of angle-iron in the stove and turn the stove on. Most plastics will eventually sag down. Turn off the oven and wait half an hour. Voila!

Handles for your powder charge adjustment that uses a 5/16th bolt. I have them on all my Dillon bars

So why drill a hole and then tape it? What purpose does the baffle serve? Honestly, I'm not trying to be a ****, I just don't get the reason for this. I'm asking because I've used a PPM for many years and am happy with it. If your system can improve upon +- .1gr I'm all over that.
 
Can anyone tell me the intended purpose of the baffle? Mine is still sitting in the original package and I've never installed it on my LNL AP. I've always been within +/- 0.1 gr so why bother?
 
Baffle makes so that no matter how full the hopper is, there is the same amount of weight pushing powder into the measuring device. without the baffle, I would have to adjust the meter every 20-30 throws because the charges were getting smaller. With the baffle it doesnt matter how much powder in the hopper, charges stay the same from first to last. Also, when I come back to reload the same cartridge a month later, I set the meter where I had it before and its nearly bang on. That didnt happen before.

The hole is drilled because you would have a hell of a time using the hole saw with out a pilot hole for the pilot bit to go into. The tape is so that the hole doesnt defeat the whole purpose of the baffle.

you guys are talking about a Baffle and I'm wondering if it't what I'm thinking it is, there's a thin circular piece of metal bent on a 90 degree angle with a semicircular hole in each side, this came with my reloading kit but nothing to tell me what it was or where it went. Are you saying this is a baffle that goes down inside the powder dispenser?

For the inertia bullet puller, the collet grabs onto the case head, but it doesn't work that great, hence the suggestion of using the shell holder, something I intend to try next time I need to do that. However for your style of bullet puller, the advice is not applicable.

Sorry I have been away from this thread........
Scar270 is right; I'm talking about the inertia bullet puller, suggesting that it has been easier for me to use since using the collet type can be awkward for me (depending of the type of bullet being pulled and my accuracy in setting up the collet style puller) - I have the Hornady and find it ok recently but have had problems but I attribute those to ME and not the device.)

Thanks allot 17asleep That piece of metal has been driving me nuts not knowing what it was ever since I got my kit, I can see what you guys are talking about now (it keeping the same powder weight on the dispenser), hope it helps so I don't have to be adjusting all the time. Thanks again, Pat
 
I didn't invent or discover it but I made it.

I turned this trickler out of aluminum but it's still heavier than the store bought ones so it doesn't move around on the table when I'm using it.

I had to modify the well so it was deeper because it would pinch the longer extruded powders and jam but here's the finished product, I hope you like it. It works great!
