what colt pistol to buy? And only colt!

I'm trying to decide what colt 45 to buy in stainless. For target and enjoyment and expected high round count.
the wife and me shoot quite a lot.

Why limit yourself to SS? Why only pistol? How about Anaconda in 45LC?

I don't find a colt 1911 to be much better than a quality copy from another maker. But an SAA from colt is light years better than most of its knock offs. And they just plain cool.
