Robert...I'm sure you know this, but a good habit to get into is to run a box of good factory ammo through any new gun that you buy to check for function. I wouldn't start cutting away steel on your SIG until you try that.

Oh I got this second hand from Jamie had ~1060 rds through it.
Not sure what ammo he ran, But I haven't tried any other ammo. I might pick up some winchester white box 40cal and some winclean. I think its just that ammo.
 
I own a USP Stainless. I've also shot my dad's P226ST extensively (both guns are 9mm though). I would definitely choose a USP over a regular P226 (much better finish) but when it comes to the ST, the choice is much harder. Personally, I prefer USP's ergonomics/control placement and external safety. I also like the fact that the USP is barrel-heavy - this makes for faster target acquisition during rapid fire. Finally, the USP has better sights. The 226's main advantages are a smoother DA trigger and much better decocker. It is also marginally easier to field strip.

You really can't go wrong with either gun. If possible, shoot both before buying (I know, easier said than done). With regards to Glock, XD and Beretta, they're all nice guns no doubt, but not quite in the same league as HK and Sig, IMO.

just because the HKs and Sigs are overprices doesn’t mean that they're in higher league... :wink:
 
you get what you pay for. Beretta's are nice guns, but don't fit my hand. I was told by a devote beretta shooter that his gun only liked -"certain ammo" ? ( i guess it would jam, and had FTF) I hope that his was rare, or maybe it was just his pistol. IMHO, if your pistol is fussy about the brand of ammo, I would sell it. I am not Beretta bashing, just stating my experience. I almost got the Vertec, but opted for the HK, as it (like the Beretta), have been tested by LE and Military to be reliable.

He didn’t say it jams now did he, he probably was talking about accuracy :wink:

Beretta is NOT fussy about ammo at all! I tried a number of different ammo types of different weights and shapes. And I never had any FTF or FTE. I tried limp wristing, shooting sideways and it newer failed…

Because of the open slide design you get the largest ejection port available which makes it next to impossible for the gun to jam. There might be a few guns that are slightly more durable, but I don’t believe that any gun can beat Beretta in the reliability department.

and btw Beretta has been tested more than any other service gun out there...

You never read the reports on the sldie cracking problems? Or the tests the USP have been subjected to...

Either way all the Berettas I've ever tried just felt bad to me.
 
Neither. An RO frm work told me. I actually saw a Glock jam on my buddies Glock (first time I have ever seen his G17 jam) :shock: It would probably help if he cleaned it (as our buddy Moe said) :lol:
I like the glocks first shot, and double taps. I just don't like the sproing! in the trigger. I find the front sight shifts a little over to the right as the trigger is pressed. :?: I guess you have to get used to it!

It's your finger that has the bends in it, not the slide.
 
I don't think it is my finger. I am talking about dryfiring. It doesn't happen with either of my pistols, but happens with the Glock? Some more so than others, very suttle, but still noticeable
 
I have the Glock 22 in 40 S&W, NICE gun!!! I never have any trouble with it, goes bang EVERY time...

If your current military/police or ex... Police Ordnance in Toronto has AWESOME deals on Glocks...

no the locking lock will lest longer than that (~22,000) and it’s the most fragile part on the gun…According to info on Beretta.com the gun least at least 35,000 rounds...the barrel will probably go for 100,000 if not more...
 
None of the above! .40S&W was the answer to no real problem!
