What competitions are you guys going to with your M14s?

I've always been a pistol shooter, and when i train hard i like to compete to monitor progress.
So i have been in IPSC pistol for the past 4 years.

Now looking to compete with the M14 platform.
I know in 3 gun it would be good for the heavy metal division.
And in out local milsurp matches, it's not eligible, only a go for the M1 garand guys.

So how are you competing with your M14, and what setup are you running (race pouches, service piuches, irons, scoped etc...)

I have this dream of using my Dominion Arms socom for 3 gun.
M14.ca sells a railed handguard that would be perfect for mounting a red dot forward of the receiver. Scout style.
Yes an AR is the go to gun but it it is so cool when someone shoots a less common rifle.

Watched a guy rock a mini 14 in 3 gun once. It was fun to see.

If you want to run an M14 in 3 gun (DA Socom), i think you would be better to use irons and compete in heavy metal division.
In my opinion, using an M14 in a division where Ar15s are used is losing before even starting.
