What criteria do you use when selecting a handgun? Size specific.

If I can hold the pistol properly, and reach the trigger properly, I'm good. There are pistols that I can't do that with (wide palms, short fingers) but not a whole lot of them - the Beretta comes to mind. Since it's my gun and my dollars, if I want it and can comfortably use the trigger, I'm good. I avoid DA/SA guns - to me the DA isn't worth learning, ditto the change to SA - life's too short to burn ammo using a less effective system than others out there. Yes, I could learn, or train myself to shoot those guns, but really, why bother when there are a wide selection of striker fired, or single action guns out there, that are at least as effective, accurate and reliable. Also, I use guns in the way the action was intended to be used - so for example if I did have a DA/SA gun (and I have had some), I would always fire the first shot DA, second shot SA etc. I don't see the value in thumb cocking a $1300 Sig and pretending the trigger is terrific when the DA sucks.
