I'm looking at getting my first handgun and I want it to be a cz... just not sure which one I should go for. I'd like to spend less then $1500, preferably under a grand.

I hear the shadow line is a great gun, but there is also a couple others out there.

Answer in the poll or message down below and let me know what you think.

I wouldn't mind to get into ipsc one day so that is another consideration.

also... whats the difference between sp-01 and regular? and is it possible to get in two tone anymore?

next question... who has em?
 
the shadow oranges are available but parsimonious and elusive like the wild geese, reliable had 2 at the beginning of the year, I snatched one up. wolverine had one last year but it disappeared within a day I think.
You just have to be lucky and watch out for the arrivals of cz shipments. I considered myself extremely lucky to grab one of them, they are not cheap though, 1400$ + tax but considering how vastly different they are from a normal shadow it's well worth the price,lots of hand made and hand fitted parts as well as competition parts.

Ya, I've heard great things from them to but that they are super hard to find.
 
Also what would be the difference between the shadow line and the canadian other then looks?

also firing pin block or no?

I would say from your list, regular shadow. I really don't see the value in the $1400 "orange" or Cdn edition.

But, I would (and have) find an 85 Combat. Looks better without the rail, no FPB and ambi controls that don't stick out too far.
 
i think the sp01 shadowline is a no-brainer. it is an upgraded shadow (albeit slightly) for not much more $.
The shadow target is a US only variant i believe, unless you were referring to the tactical sport, which is a different animal.

if i wanted best value - sp01 shadow line.
the one in like the best - shadow orange.
the one i'd buy now - tactical sport

I have a 75 Shadow Line and it is really nice! Aluminum grips, 85 combat trigger (adjustable),free fall mag, steel ops rod and spring, nice hammer novac rear sight red light tube up front. Shoots nicely as one would expect. That said I could be happy with an 85 combat, or any of the other CZ's mentioned. It almost comes down to what you can get your hands on and or how long you're willing to wait.

I forgot to mention the SRT (short reset trigger)

I just bought a CZ75 P07 Duty, For $599 new, this is a sweet 9mm pistol, my first entry into poylmer framed pistols and cz did there homework, i love this pistol, its small , light , a perfect carry gun. the cz 85 or 75 shadow are also great guns, just bigger and heaver, but give this one a closer look, you will be plesently surprised at this little gem....... just my 2 cents.......good luck on your purchase.
