what dealers carry rem 700 actions/bolts

well that was an off the cuff comment there R.J. but I was looking at another pierce action from Hirsch but went to find it and seems I have to call them for the price though it shows 1 in stock.
I bought one a couple years ago for 1249.00 before tax but sold it before I built it when one of the 4 legged family members needed a few grand in emergency vet bills.
I did find a remington barreled action with trigger at a non cgn dealer but the pipe on it is a 6.5creedmore which i could pull and sell....... seems to be a bad time to be hunting for an action eh boys? LOL
Maybe I'll see what atrs can come up with...... haven't emailed them yet.

the search continues

There was a Tikka t3 22-250 listed on the local buy and sell yesterday.
He was asking $800

I'm not fond of Tikka rifles. Not trashin them, just not for me.
I'd like to go remington type action as it would be the easiest path with the most options to end up with the rifle I envision the build to be.
I've toyed with building one of those straight pull Maverick's from Maple Ridge Armory but for the 900.00 that receiver/bolt carrier costs I want to exhaust all tradition bolt gun options first.
just sticking to the rem type actions in a short or mid length , .308 bolt face. The intention is to build a somewhat short barrelled .338federal for the treestand and moose calling hunts.

I’ll keep my open for a cheap Rem 700.
Found one, but it’s not as cheap as the Tikka.View attachment 583816View attachment 583815View attachment 583814

Now keep in mind, if you buy a donar sps it is not the same as buying a remington action. Though they are technically the same, the actions remington sells are much nicer finished, have jeweled bolts and such.
Now if you don't care, and are going to cerakote it anyway, well then sometimes finding a donare gun is cheaper.
Its like buying a brand new sps for $700 or a BDL for $1200, there is a diffrence.
But each to his own.

i bet it's nice..... I just can't find any love in me for the Tikka action.

ya I could go with a blued model and get the whole thing cerakoted ..... that is in the cards.
I would rather not buy a complete cheap rifle to get a run of the mill remington action as I have no need for a used rifle package off the EE with stock or used optics ect.
I want this rifle to be that one special rifle I built for myself from the ground up minus any necessary smithing done by a professional. I will make my own stock and I have some rem 700 accessories already such as short action optic rail and trigger pack. Detachable magazine assembly will be part of the build as well.
I kinda want everything to be pristine and new

remington hasn't offered actions only as an option since they were bought by the new company, and going forward it may not be an option the new owners are willing to sell, so options of getting one now are limited to finding old dead stock, or buying a donor rifle. not sure why anyone would want the handicap of starting with such a bad platform anyways........:popCorn:

LOL..... I'm not a remington 700 fan boy..... it is simply a tool to get a job done. It seems that nearly every aftermarket action out there is made in the remington 700 footprint so they can't be all that bad now can they? Now the remington 710..... now that rifle is a handicap right out of the box LOL
I owned a rem700 .338win mag for a brief time and liked the action but decided to keep the m77 mkII 7mm remmie instead.
I'm also keeping my eye out for a non tang safety Ruger M77 mid to late 90's model with a .308 bolt face but seems everyone in the ee wants near new prices for their used kit LOL or they have customized it too much and insist on selling as package deals.

I'll get where I want to be eventually.
Thanx for all the comments guys.
