What did a deer licence cost when you first started hunting?

Don't know about deer, but moose licence in ON. in the early '70s about 20 bucks, Sept. 15th to Dec. 15th. Bull tags only for everyone.

The first one I bought was 5$ and no habitat certificate, but then again I bought a keg of surplus 4831 for 15$ in the States and brought it back with no issues when I was 16. Prices and attitudes have changed.

Ten bucks, and you also got to shoot a bear IIRC. Ontario, mid-seventies.

I think a small game was $3, waterfowl maybe $5?... but it's getting to be a long time ago.

I can't recall? Ontario 1978....I used to work at Ellwood Epps when they had a North Bay store in the early 80's and sold lots but don't recall prices? I used to really like when season got close and the store would fill up with guys buying licenses and talking hunting. Great memories!

I still have my first hunting licence.
1982 British Columbia.
License $7.00.
Moose tag, $10.00.

Alberta 1987.
Wildlife Certificate, $6.00 Mandatory Fish and Wildlife Development $7.00 = $13.00
Black bear - $10.00
Whitetail - $10.00
Moose - $11.00

Ontario,1968. We had a combination choice of Deer/Bear or Deer/Elk (Wapiti) for $15. Moose/Bear or Moose/Elk cost $18.75. There was no sales tax included,no draws to enter and we could take either a Bull or Cow or Calf. There were no ATV's and remote access was either by water or back packing or snow machine when winter hit. Once the Liberal politicians became involved in the mid 70's,it's been a slow-motion train wreck ever since.
