Yeah, that was fast. Yes it does have 7.92 on the side. So is that standard "8mm mauser" for ammunition? That's good, I'm happy with a Spanish Mauser, it just looked too nice to pass up.
I was wondering about that one-the seller had 2 of them, and he wasn't sure what they were either. I was going to make an offer on one of them, but picked up a nice turkish Gewher 88 instead. (to go with my gorgeous Israeli Mauser).![]()
THAT was fast!
It was correct, too.
These are beautiful rifles and very much underappreciated.
They are one of the last military Mausers to go INTO production.
.
Hah! you went opposite of me. I looked a Turkish marked commission rifle and then saw the mauser. A lot of nice stuff there but some very high prices. I also like old Winchester Self Loaders and saw a nice 351 (Model 1907 i think) but at $600 it was waaaayyy to much.
I winced at the $700-$850 price tags on some of the #4 Mk1's...I was thinking that I could make a fortune here if people are actually buying them at that price!![]()
It was a good weekend for Mausers, my buddy picked up a sweet Brazilian with a matching bayonet for a decent price too.
I went to that show both Saturday and Sunday. A few nice rifles but most of the ones that I was interested in were going a bit high. I saw a very nice mint Polish M44 that was going for $345. The guy wouldn't come down and it was more than I would pay.
I picked up a very nice sportered Enfield for a good price for a buddy but nothing for me.
