What Die's to Use?

Some folks also used to think that the Forster Benchrest dies were pretty good and produced very low runout. Redding are beautifully made and the rcbs competition dies have (had?) that pretty cool little window to drop the bullet into.... Lots of folks marvel at the results they get from the relatively inexpensive Lee Collet dies

It's about .015 thick, unturned.

So, .308+(2*.015) = .338

General rule is to subtract .002, so a .336 bushing should do it.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong...nicely please

Pay the extra for the TiNi:

Get the Carbide expander ball kit too to save you having to lube the inside of the necks

It's very wise to measure and understand what you are dealing with. A couple of observations...expander balls do get through that are not very smooth...I have seen some that reamed a sliver of brass of the inside of a case. As well you might still want to use a tiny bit of lube even if using a carbide expander. There is often brass flow into the neck which is not exactly identical from case to case...furthermore unless you are very careful cleaning the inside case neck after each firing there will variable 'drag' of the expander ball while drawn throug the neck of the sized cartridge. Many folks who have not measured 'before' (eg just sized) and then 'after' neck expansion will be amazed how much this process can stretch your brass (a fact often erroneously blamed on "hot" loads.) I think one of the reasons some guys are gravitating towards the Lee Collet dies is to minimize this potential ....
