what do I have here? (svt40)

So I have a early german import svt40, its a 1940 refurbished izzy with sniper rails and a sniper notch..... I cannot say if its fake or a "feild sniper" and thats why I need your help! also any info on the barage of stamps would be really cool as well!

That is not authentic factory made sniper. There's a tiny chance it's a "field" sniper, but I can't say that without several good pictures of notch from different angles.
 
Going to agree with Horilka (who, admitedly, knows more about them than I do), for two reasons:

The stainless Steel cup and piston are aftermarket. There was an outfit in the US that made them for a while, and Corwin-Arms imported some from from another manufacturer as well, and they're a fairly common replacement. Originals would be blued steel only.

That points to someone "upgrading" the rifle.

If you look at the steel around the notch, it appears to have slight heat stress discolouration. Someone hit it with a grinder to make that notch.
 
I bought the piston set a year after I got the rifle from Corwin at a gun show when he hooked me up with a ton of other stuff at a crazy good deal. And the heat stress discolouration is simply a cold blue to protect the exposed steal. Regardless of field sniper or bubba, it had to be done. I'll post a picture of the German export company's stamp/ engraving that's under the handgaurd tomorrow.
