I have a Colt Govt 20 inch barrel AR15 the carry handle cannot be removed though I would like to add a elcan optic what needs to be done ? thanks .

Get a flat top upper.

Will also have to confirm what type of upper you will need to get - small (takedown) pin or large pin. I'm assuming that it's a large pin flat top upper that you'll need considering you've described it as a Gov't model.

Don't be silly sell it and use the coin for a A3 like BBB said.

Lots of A3 uppers out there. The milled ones don't look as nice and sit higher than the factory rail.

I got the tools here to remove the A2 upper and put on a A3.
Iam in NS as well.
