What do I need?

I liked mine. You get everything you need in one box, for ~$100.

If you like yours then that is good enough for me! So all I would need to add is dies and shell holders?

Mainly this will be to reload .45 ACP for my dad and I to go to the range and rounds for hunting (308 Norma Magnum and 7mm Magnum mostly).

You may find it a bit time consuming for handgun ammo. That is if you shoot as much as most of us.
It's still probably the best bet starting out. Cheap, and gives all the basics. Something you can learn on, and you can always buy a turret press, or an automated unit for handgun, if you have the need later. The dies fit across most brands. 7/8 X 14 thread.

There are those that put down Lee stuff, because it's cheap, and just like cars, lots of guys are strongly brand loyal. Frankly, Lee stuff works. It's not always as nice as the more expensive stuff, but it works.
Myself, I have a mix of makes.

I've learnt an awful lot over the last year using a Lee kit. Its already already paid for itself in sheer enjoyment alone. For $150 you really can't lose out considering the experience you will get. You may find that you want to upgrade as you go, you may not. But for an initial $150 investment you will likely have a better understanding of what it is you want.
