Looking around and found the Ruger SR in the local store fore $740 a bit over priced but I like it. Checked out some reviews on other .22 semi handguns and the M&P also appears like a good one. I can Mailorder it for $600ish

I already have a Ruger Mk2 that's good to go but I would like to try something diffirent

Can't seem to find any other semi auto rimfires around for sale. It will be used for plinking and such..

What says you? suggestions?

I know you already have a mk2 but just take a look at the mkiv series really think they are the bees knees, Or maybe wait a bit and see how the G44 fairs. I could be wrong but with the m&p and the sr magazine could be a pain to find

Shot both and went with the MP22. You will need to change the sights as the factory ones are crap but still worth it. Fits my hand well, eats everything, accurate and I own other M&P pistols so it was a bit of a no brainer for me. Also at the end of the day it simply fun to shoot.

Can’t comment on the others but I had an M&P 22 it ran like a champ. Would eat anything. Sights aren’t great and it wasn’t 22/44 accurate but super fun and reliable.

I got the sr22 and I like it. I got the upgraded sights and magazine extensions for it which is a little nicer. Grip is a little small for my hands but I make it work.

Unless you are looking strictly at poly guns, look at the GSG 1911, I have had mine for 8 or 9 years and it is the fun gun in my collection. Never had issues with it. I also have a couple of MKIII/45's that are more accurate and are also reliable. If you can try a couple different guns, and buy what feels right. Can't have too many 22's pistols or rifles.

A friend of mine had his firing pin break on his GSG.... At 15,000 rounds... Got a new one and has carried on.

I have the M&P and the Sig version of the GSG, brought in by North Sylva. The M&P is great and shoots everything I feed it. The Sig peened the slide until it wouldn't hold open within 2000 rounds. North Sylva said there was nothing they could do on warranty.... I have purchased a Chet Williams slide for it instead but North Sylva was a disappointment ...

A friend of mine has a Ruger SR22 and I've shot it many times. It's a nice gun and shoots good, but definitely on the small side. I have a GSG 1911, and I quite like it. I've often thought about getting an M&P 22 (I have an M&P 9mm), and I've heard good things, but I haven't actually tried one.

I bought a SR22 from AL Flaherty's. Good gun, no issues at all, bit small in my hands. Finding mags for it is tough. Then I bought a Browning Buckmark, mounted a red dot on it, went to the range and after I shot it, the SR22 went up for sale. The Browning is a tack driver. I can buy Buckmark mags from Sail outdoors.

Since having my Buckmark, I have bought a few Tandemkross upgrade parts. Space gun for the win!

The Walther PPQ 22 is worth a look. It's the best poly 22 I've had by far. None of the polymer 22s are as good as they Mark IVs, Buckmarks or Victorys though.

If you plan on adding a M&P 9 to your mix then the M&P 22 is a great option, if fits the same holsters and is pretty much the same size. Check reviews, no issues as far as I have seen. BTW, I think it's made by Carl Walther under contract in Germany for S&W.
