What do you constantly scan the EE milsurp list for? Anything rare?

Now that I have the k98s I wanted, I'm looking into the 'Other' Mauser rifles, preferably short rifles. It's amazing how a matching numbers Port 1904/39 can be had for LESS than $300 while you have to be a on your toes to grab a Port k98 for less than a grand.

So many Mausers, so little time...

Looking for Finn Mosins, Enfields, Arisakas, Swedes, Czech and others.
In fact this can be seen as looking for trouble because it always ends up costing me a lot...
But I don't drink or do dope, so...
PP. :)

Drinking and weed are a lot cheaper than this habit! Next to horses and hotrods/muscle cars, this ones pretty bad. Plus its easy to stop smoking ganja, giving up your guns is like parting with a kidney, theoretically possible, but unpleasant to think about.

It's all about the Garands; but you have to be quick to get them....Ninja quick. Of course if it is slow on the Garand front there is always Russian SKS's and Enfields. I want a 30-06 FN as well but was too slow on the draw the last couple of times.

I had a tame Lynx once upon a time.... well, half-breed lynx, anyway. He stole my Pork Chop right off my plate.

I think I'd be rather circumspect dealing with a tame panther.

On the other hand a 'tame' Panther could be a LOTTA fun!

French used them well into the '60s; gotta be some around second-hand somewhere.
.

A Lynx cross? Neato! I've got a monster 20lb muscular cat that scares the sh!t out of me when he's p!ssed. I think you'd need a deathwish to live with a big cat, too fast, strong, dangerous and unpredictable. Still, how cool would I be with a panther laying on a bear rug in my living room.

Id like to find a real nice RCAF marked Long Branch, but every time one does pop up, I'm broke and miss it.

But its pretty much anthing WWI and WWII, garands, Enfields, Mausers, High Powers ect. if I had the money, I would have one hell of a collection.

S&W Military and Police "pre-victory" model in .380/200 cal (.38S&W). After that the Inglis Browning HP. They also used various .38 cal Enfields and Webleys from British supply channels which our troops were plugged into in Italy and NW Europe.

I'm fortunate to own my late uncle's personal issue Cdn marked S&W which he carried from Normandy through to VE Day as a member of 1st Cdn Army.

Thank you for the info. You are very fortunate. You must be honoured to own that piece of your families history

I looked at these pieces and handled them, as well as the P38 that my uncle brought back, from the time I was a kid. I remember shooting them for the first time when I was around 10 yrs old. It's nice to have them, but I'd rather still have my uncle around. He introduced me to shooting, hunting and reloading and had a lot to do with my decision to go into the Army as a career. I supplied him with ammo for his S&Ws and P38 over the years. The last time he fired the gun in anger was to pop a coon in his attic.

My uncle also taught me how to shoot, among many other things in life. He also passed away recently and was like a father to me, so I relate to much of what you are saying. He served in the Navy and was an avid hunter.
