What do you do with a ruined cartridge

I was reloading my .223 cartridges and I buckled a case while seating the bullet. ( 60gr. Nosler ) What does a person do with ammo that cannot be safely fired? I just put it in a metal case I have for now.

Put it up as a display in your reloading room, as a reason to slow down.

It isnt going to explode on its own, it is safe.

I kept my first few mistakes as reminders to take my time. If you are worried about it getting mixed up or something use a sharpie on it or just pull the bullet.

Seriously guys, I don't want to keep it as a trophy. I am not worried about it discharging but I don't want it around. I wasn't hurrying. I seated it too heavy. The lever on the press was at it's limit and I guess I forced it.

Pull the bullet, dump the powder, and deprime the case.

Throw the ruined case into your worn-out brass bucket which when full can be sold for scrap..

Remove your die, run the case through the press, grab the bullet with pliers, and jerk the ram back down.

he must have. I do my damndest to salvage as much powder from my reloading ####ups as I can. If I can save the bullet, I will too.

I have a box for those ones. One day when motivation takes over, i will pull bullets and dispose of the powder.

Good idea. I am new to reloading and still need advice. I wasn't aware of this trick.

don't use pliers this can damage the bullet, a kinetic bullet puller will pop it apart qucily and safely and not damage any of the compents

This just makes it someone else's problem. Take it apart yourself.
