Just picked up a DD MK18, there's a couple good bulk orders floating around .

Barnaul in 55gr and 62gr
Norinco in 55gr
Federal xm855 and 192 in. (55 and 62)

Before I take the plunge... any comments from the hive?

Thanks.

My 10.5 sports a 1/7 CHF barrel made at the same FN factory as the DD barrels... It likes norc for CQB and Fed black box out past 50m. I've had very poor accuracy from both weight Barnaul. Not even CQB worthy in my books...

I have a Mk18 and its Norinco 55gr. This ammo actually specs out good over the chronograph. Other than the Norinco stuff XM193 Federal and XM855 gets my vote. Take out the LC XM193 stuff at dusk and you will understand why my friends call my Mk18 the Dragon Slayer. If the bullet doesnt get them the muzzle flash will!

my colt loves xm855 62 grain, 2moa all day.
My tavor hates it though, 5 moa.

YMMV every barrel is different, you need to try all the bulk ammo to see what fits best.

I don't put Chinese crap in my firearms, no way never.

I have found that the shorter barrel ARs prefer the heavier weight rounds. I have used M855 (useable) and a variety of 75-77gr. OTM ammo to good effect.

I'm shooting Norc 55gr ammo right now. I have had zero keyholing in my DD barrels, unlike some others who have had bad results. Works for me for just plinking.
