I was at the rifle range today getting ready for moose season 3 tags at the camp this year. One of my buddies has a Remington 783 in 30-06 and couldn't get it grouping well at all, we tried Remington 180gr bonded corkt lok and fuision 180gr, rifle does have a new Nikon prostaff scope and is chambered in 30-06.
what do you feed your 783 with

barrel floating? bedded? trigger decent?
did u try a plain jane box of Corelokts or SuperX...
maybe doesn't like 180gr , not unheard of.
how far away is moose season? have u left it late to be messing with a rifle?
I duno, plenty of variables without seeing photos of groups.

Mine likes 150gr Speer GS and 165 Speer BTSP....
Check the action screws, I always tighten them lightly and evenly until snug, then crank the front screw a little snugger.
I never shoot factory ammo, but try the Winchester Power Max Bonded in 150 or 165 if they have it, seen it shoot good in a few rifles.
