I just picked up a new-to-me Marlin 39A and I'm looking forward to taking it to the range to try a bunch of different ammo out to see which it seems to like best.

What have you guys had luck with? Or, better yet, are there any brands that you'd not waste your time with or that tend to give lever actions a hard time?

Thanks!

Like any .22rimfire it's best to try all sorts of ammo and see what your rifle likes.
Your 39 should be able to handle everything from shorts to long rifle.

My wife and I each have one . We find that our rifles prefer a round with a nice rounded bullet . We have good luck with either CCI Blazer or Remington Gameshock . Also, solid tips seem to feed smoother than HP's . Hope this helps .

Thanks for the input guys, I'll give those all a shot and see which it likes best. Should be a fun experiment. Great way to spend an afternoon!

Any other suggestions? I've had people suggest CCI Mini Mags and Federal Champion as well so I'll throw those in the mix.
