Seriously though, to the OP: If your goal is a competition gun I would suggest a DI gun. Daniel Defense is a good balance between quality and cost and they are very popular with owners.
The reason I say DI is simply about balance. The Ruger will always feel front heavy and it's just not as natural to bring up on target, or transition.
The reason I was defending the SR is simply because people like to poo all over a concept because it disrupts their delicate sensibilities. In truth, your score in comp will be 90% up to you, the 10% (maybe 2%) will be up to the AR you choose. AR's these days are that good. You can give me the top of the line Knight's and I would easily get beat by a pro with a Norinco, just sayin'. So if the SR is what you like, it's not going to hold you back!
