I was goofing round with some spare accessories I have kicking around and noticed the carry handle/rear sight from my dad's AR, not only fits with the red dot sight, but lines up perfectly. I haven't really decided on if I like how it looks or not.
Far as I'm concerned, if it doesn't have a convenient carry handle - I don't want it!
For me the sling is a shooting aid first and a means of carry second. Mind you, I am just a gun club duffer and will defer to the opinions of the cool kids on that one.
Normally you have front and rear sights in case your electronic sight dies, but a single rear sight... I mean, dude... take off your electronic sight and you suddenly have iron sights right there on your rifle. You didn't even had to pay for them.
i think the question here is does the sight on the carry handle line up with the front sight on the rifle. IF it does rock on..if not well then you have a carry handle with a useless rear sight
Yep, lol. had it at the range, shot good, but felt goofy, took it off and moved the red dot back and it felt more comfortable and i shot better. Guess the handle will sit in the closet until I can get an AR of my own. Mind you I'll probably want to put some kind of optics on that.
He could get one of those carry handle rails! Then it would be iron sights, with a handle with iron sights and a red dot! Give it a laser to go with that flashlight and your good to go to war. Secondary weapon: enemies collapsing with laughter.
