What do you guys think?

As far as I concerned it looks like a very nice gun. It may or may not shoot well because of the cut barrel. The value of the gun has been hurt a lot as now it is only a modified gun. If you deceide to sell it down the road it might be a very hard sell to get your money or close to it back. Now if it was the orginal 8 3/8 inch barrel it would be worth very good money. In my books $850.00 is a real stretch. Just my .02 cent worth.

So, what might a nice original 8 3/8" be worth, blued or plated? Are they worth more than the shorter ones? The long ones are nice, as are the 5" and 6" models.

$850 is a little steep, but it would be a steal at $700. I think that the deciding factor is how badly you want it. After all, you'll shoot the difference in cost away in a few range sessions, and the gun itself will last you a lifetime if you care to keep it that long.
