Hi Folks,

I am looking to do a bit of rear sight adjustment on my pistols and I was wondering what method is the most recommended, or if a tool is truly required and if so, which one do you guys suggest?

Thanks!

If you have tritium vials, do not hammer.

A pusher tool is much easier to fine tune. But a brass punch and light hammer will work.

The Vism / NcStar sight pusher has been working very well for me. I got mine from Bullseye a while back at a very good price. Seems sold out most places now. The current Amazon price is outrageous.

I use a block of Delrin impregnated Kevlar that was surplus from a job at work and an 8 oz ball peen hammer. Ideal for drifting dovetail sights without damage. As another poster stated, don't hammer self illuminating sights.

BFH (big fvcking hammer) usually does the trick, lol!
Get a dedicated tool for your model and if none exist, hammer and a soft/non marring punch with delicate taps of the hammer.

Does a nylon punch with small hammer is fine for tritium sights?

Ameriglo are oversize as far as I see mine.. it goes in about 25% before it needs help going in.. Watched a couple vids and I think I will file the sight until it can get to 40-50% in before any tool sis needed..

Any tips ?

Glock 19, decided to go for it, used G96 oil on the dovetail and bottom of sight, worked great but tough to make small adjustment, might need a pusher for that but looks pretty good, vials still illuminate.
