What do you have left to buy?

I was thinking about this off and on lately and I think I only have one rifle left to buy and then I have all my bases covered. I have a PAL rated PCP air rifle, a decent .22cal rifle, a 17 Rem FB, a .223 bolt and a semi auto, a .257 Roberts AI, a 30-06 and the one left to buy is a 338LM and then I think I'm done. Any others would be just because.

I've been in the;) 'just cuz' mode for a while now. My hope for one more rifle is a Schultz & Larsen in 358 NM. One more handgun, a specific variation of the Browning P 35. Keep in mind, this 'one more' has been going on for a few years for me, and it always ends up being, 'just one more':p.

I've been thinking for the last little while that I should be concentrating more on certain things rather than taking a scattered approach. Maybe sticking with higher end classic bolts like Pre-64 M70s and sporting Mausers, but then you get to thinking "well, I should have a beater '06 for throwing in the komatik" and "I really should have a lever 45-70" and worse still you find a real "deal" and then that's something else in your safe. Compound the felony by saying "I need a 338 because my 300 is a LR rig and my 9.3x62 is irons only" and you're totally hooped.

Id really like a ruger #1 in a 338
I need to buy a 22 ruger, thinking a heavy barrell one.
Then Id love to get a 375 probably in a model 70.
Maybe a 223 if i ever move somewhere where there are coyotes..

Man..

I have

.223 Kimber Montana
7mm RSAUM Model 7 SS

I need a .350 RM in something SS.

Those 3 will do everything. After that the rest will be "just because".

Man, I see a lot of holes in your collection, no offense, you are nowhere even being close to "done"! Back to the drawing board, my friend! There are no "just cus" ones out there, really! do not turn down a bargain on a 50 guns gun safe sale! you will fill it up sooner or later! Costco, right now, 51 gun Winchester safe on sale and a 36 gun safe at CTA, search the threads, don't miss out!

Your missing out on so much I don't even know where to start

Guns are like women except there is no reason to settle for just one. Use em, abuse em, and carry on :p

and then I think I'm done.

I've said that about 18 times and every time I get another one, I can think of 3 more that I "NEED". What I mean by "NEED" is "MUST HAVE".

Right now, I must have at least some form of lever action, some flavour of SS 1911 in .45 & a nice O/U double 12 gauge.

I definitely have to get a Mod 70 in .270 to plug the hole between my .30-06 and my .25-06.

When my RPAL shows up next month gonna have to have a Ruger MK III .22 and maybe a 9mm Glock (and just maybe a sweet revolver of some sort).

Above are "MUST HAVES".;)

In the "JUST BECAUSE" category see WSS Catalog pp. 1 thru 48 plus entire Wolverine Supply inventory..!!!;):runaway:

That's nothing more than a pipe dream. Buy the .338 and I guarantee that two weeks later you get the itch for something else. It never ends.

;)I had a 'similar' calibre gap that I thought I should fill while I can still make use of it. To do so, I purchased a model 3000 Husqvarna from Why not? and now my life was complete.

Then, as luck would have it, an old friend and workmate decided to part with his 270 and for nostalgic reasons, I decided I 'needed' that one as well:redface:. It also filled another void for me, something with full length wood. So, after 40+ years of not having a 270, now I have two:D

Unfortunately for rifles my needs stop at a good .375 and a .22, very nice to have includes something in the .257 Roberts range, fully supplied across the board includes a repeating bush carbine and a varmint specific rifle. I'm signicantly past that, like most of us, but only really hunt the .375. I've collected, and realized I can't take it with me, and my job has me away so much I don't do much with them, it's just hoarding for me. So I spend (most) of my shooting sports money on hunting, not rifles, but I had one indiscretion last year and placed an order for a pricey rifle. But, it's number two on my list above and for me, well justified.
