Would like to go back into precision (bellow 800m), fun shooting and casual hunting (already have a 700LSS .270wsm for that purpose). Ultimatety, action will be drop into a MDT chassis.
I would like something smaller and lighter than my previous 24in Savage 10TR. I remembered that my 1:10 5R barrel was picky on ammo. Was only able to get sub MOA groups with match ammos; nothing good @100m with ball ammo or Federal BlueBox or Rem Corelok.
I would like my next setup to be able to shoot well inexpensive factory hunting ammos found at Canadian Tire or WalMart.
So I found the Ruger American Predator; Medium contour, 18in barrel. Got some reviews, stock material is really cheap, but how about the action potential? Would you give a look at this action for a small chassis rifle? Should I keep looking at the EE for a short Model 10 or 700 instead?
