looking at a 257 Roberts or a 22-250 what are your thoughts on them???? and what kind of kick is on them ???? I was talking too a guy that's used both so im curious to see some comments you guys have thanks >>>>> hound2013

My 22-250 is a tack driver. Its a fun caliber to shoot, which is why I also got myself a 6XC.
Not much of a kick, makes it easy to shoot.

Depends what you want them for. Neither has objectionable recoil. One is solely a varmint round and the other is varmint/big game cross over.
Yes/No/Maybe :)

The 257Roberts is perfect for deer, but I've used the 22/250 for deer as well handloaded with stout bullets like 70gr Speers, 60NPs, 53gr TSX etc.

I am assuming by "kick" you mean recoil... in which case, neither have much recoil... I personally wouldn't use a .22 centerfire on deer, I don't know of any jurisdiction where this is necessary, so why do it? But the /250 is great for fox/coyote/gophers. The Bob can definitely take deer and coyotes with ease... the /250 will be a lot cheaper to shoot... so if you are just punching paper, that will be a better choice... but IMO for paper punching a .223 would win over the /250.

Two 257's in my house, I don't keep a 22/250 long, I'm not enamoured with it unless I was in a Province that allows for deer hunting with 22 centerfires- even then I likely would not use it too much over the Bob!

You on the sauce when you TRIED to write that?

I'll take a stab at "hounds" latest post ....

If in reference to the 22-250, brass should be no harder to obtain than 243 .... however, almost all supplies for reloading are a little tough to come by lately,
particularly powder, but bullets & primers as well. Shouldn't be hard to find dies at all. At Epps the other day... and did see most common RCBS die sets in stock,
including those for the 22-250 and 257 Roberts.

If in reference to the 257 Roberts, my experience has been that brass is somewhat harder to come by than either 22-250 or 243, but I had no trouble
rounding up 200 pieces of new 257 Roberts +P Winchester brass a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the info.
Looky like I'm going to look into it.
I have a 243.
In Tom Centre is it hard to get brass to reload ???
And whut about bullets and powdier???
