What do you think of my "assembly"?

Yeah the paint on the barrel and reciever is old, it was painted tan to match the oem hougue stock. But now like you guys said I think its getting Cerakoted black when funds allow. Also I need to increase the angle for the hand and make it a little smaller. Then I think its just all about pracitice then I guess.

I agree thst your bolt knob is way oversize and you'll probably need a cheek pad or cheekpiece to get a good cheek weld. How is the eye relief? Scope looks a bit far back.

Unlike a number of fellows here I'm interested in one thing and that is how does it shoot? FS

The true is, doesn't matter how the gun shoot, it got to have some good look in it.
the bolt is a bit big , but can be redone to smaller one, finish on the metal can be strip or bee blasted to clean up, I would phosphate it to have a nice dark color match the stock.

First post mentions shooting.
I'm of the opinion that performance is more important than appearance.
Put money into performance enhancing features, not into cosmetic procedures.
Apart from the way oversized bolt handle - alteration of which is extremely low cost - the rifle looks entirely functional.
If the colour offends, its easy enough to strip back to the factory finish. If repainting is desired, a lot of guns have had black bbq or engine manifold paint applied.

Who gives a flying rats f*ck about the paint?! Are you trolling for sausage at the range and staring at your rifle, or are you behind it sending rounds down range?? The look of a rifle has absolutely nothing to do with its performance. Kind of like beauty, some people are butt ugly, but they're gorgeous in the eyes of their mate. For the cost of Cerakote you could actually break the triple digit mark on fired rounds.

I have lots of budget rifles but they dont look like a 6 year old painted it.

FYI - I've built some of my own bolt knobs in the past. Yours just looked huge and chunky which is why I asked where it was from.

Just wondering why its a...as you put it... "sick gat"? Is it because it looks like poodle barfed on it?

/LOL..quit insulting 6 year olds please:D

The rifle itself looks like it will be a shooter, and while the colour is not a personal favorite of mine, if you like it, then all the power to you. As long as it is functional, and you like to shoot it, that is all that matters.

All the components are decent enough and when put together they make a very decent package. Nice build, for me the bolt knob does look a bit big, and I am not a fan of the colour, but like others have said it is the shooting that matters. Nice job!

For those looking for the stock, PM Juan Valdez, he can get them for you and his pricing is great!

Sorry boys been busy getting my blood alcohol content high as well as getting all my stuff ready for the new years. It shoots great! Well when its put in the leadsled that is, shoots almost .5 moa. When Im off my bipod thats another story but Im sure my groups will shrink with practice. Coming at around 300 rounds now. Thanks for the advice everyone I really appreciate it. Also this is my first forum so I learned that I have to watch what I say and not joke around or the trolls will be on me like flies on ####!

Well if it shoots an honest 1/2 MOA then shes a keeper. Would be worth doing a nice paint job.

I dig the junkyard look, but you should take it farther in my opinion. Sandpaper the stock, or maybe some carefully placed paint drops, overspray, excess bedding compound, etc. Its like the guy who shows up at the drag strip with a rusted out Cavalier and then bangs off 10 second passes. Complete sleeper setup.

Also, a troll is someone who puts out a 'baited' post in anticipation of irking a response from others. People who jump all over you for no good reason are just jerks. But, whenever you ask for opinions, you will be entitled to hear them all, whether they are good, bad, or otherwise. In this case, somebody disagreed with your style.

Welcome to the internet.

Edit: Only Dirt McGirt can get away with calling it a 'gat'

If I had a choice, I would go with the table.

Ahhhh...a "leg" man;)

J308...I'm with the majority...not fond of tan and black...I prefer black and black...or tan and tan for me. Kool stock tho..looks awesome!....
ps..you don't have to have a two thousand dollar gun to have some fun...and welcome to the forum!
