What do you use for .303 enfield targets?

Water bottles, fruit and vegetables, Tannerite, paper targets, Zuchini are one of my favourite...I grow a patch just for target practice ( they are barely edible) I cut a big one in half, set on flat end on my 250 Target frame. The Grandkids love Reactive targets, me too. We have a huge garden, so there is always something that isn't table worthy.

I saw on here once (I think it was on here) where a guy guy mixed some yeast, sugar and water and put in plastic bottles for a few days. The bottles were almost to the point of exploding, took them out and shot them up. There was a video of them too. I've searched for the thread but I've never been able to find it again. Anybody else remember this? I've always wanted to try it.

Dirty bird targets from Walmart are quite good and a decent price too as they change colour where the impact is..
That and my inner 8 year old gets to giggle when I have to go buy some more dirty birds :p

At 50yd use 25 yd slow fire handgun targets cut in half to duplicate the military half bull target.

I make up most of my own targets, using the apropriate size circle for the sights being used, usually black or red cicle on white. Iron sights at 100 yards i would use a 3-5 " circle depending on the quality of sights. Most 303 rifles i had you needed a 4x8 sheet of plywood with a mark in the center and you might hit something. Barrels were just a little bit wore out.;)

CDB18: I have good results at 100/200 yrds with a "official 100 yard small bore rifle target" that has an 8inch black area. These are cheap at Bass. Seems to work OK for my eyes with both the No. 4 peep sights and the No. 1 conventional sights as well as other milsurp open sights. Avoid anything intended for scope sighting in as they may be nearly invisible with the unaided eyeball!

I'm looking for some ideas for 50 and 100 yard targets for iron sights.

I know what my father would have told you after a few shots of rye..... this is him (the middle guy) just before he went to Europe.... I'd LOVE to own that No. 4 he's playing with, he could tell you it's serial no. right up to the day he died.

Well once you get bored of paper targets, anything that reacts to the shot is more fun.. yes as previously mentioned for the yeast n sugar n water mix, i kinda remember that combo too but didn't write it down.. oh well experiment.. i use water filled milk or water jugs (and i clean up my mess too). i also have some replaced pots, pans with their lids for a new batch of targets.. And a few times, we've used a non value helmet and liner on a styrofoam head for an "enemy" target too, set up at 100 yds.. then tape over the "kill" shots..

I made some "Tin hat" style of targets for use with all my military rifles. It is a 12" circle with a 2"x3" square. I usually mount it on a piece of cardboard. Here it is one day I was shooting my mosin, sans bayonet.

I used the targets pictures in "Shoot To Live" as a reference. PM me and I'll send you one. You will need legal sized paper to make copies.

I also have come to use a 8.5"x11" sheet of paper quartered. At 100y, aiming at the top edge, the front sight just covers the paper with a slight halo of paper sticking out the sides.

I use plain 8x11 page.Target boards are black rubber so white page stands out very nicely regardless of season.

Also it's free for me-I use old shop drawings and just turn them over :)

I make my own with felt marker for 100yds. a 3in wide 5in high rectangle, and put top of blade on bottom of the rectangle.

For irons I use either this inverted triangle or the double triangles.

I find that they make for good definitive sight pictures for my irons.

At 100 yards and beyond I print the inverted triangle on an 11"x17" sheet and it works great at 200 yards. POA is the bottom apex of the triangle.
