Currently I use a basic Protektor Rabbit ears rear bag for simple bench shooting at the range, but I'm thinking there are better options out there, especially if I'm going to shoot F-Class (will be running a Robertson GBF stock).

With that in mind, what do you use and what would you recommend, o sages of precision shooting? :D

The cadillac is the Edgewood bags.

The custom Protektors are great too.

I am working with a gent who makes leather goods and we might be able to come up with something in between these two prices.

At present, I also use a simple protektor rear bag but will be moving to a reinforced one next season if the project bag above doesn't work out. You just need it to be rigid and not roll around. Fitting the shape of your stock is critical for proper tracking.

I use a green army sock filled with poly beads I got at a craft store. I have used leather bags and actually find the sock more versatile.Thats just me of course.

I use a Protektor and it works fine.

Thick bottom with the short ears and double stitched in between. (14A)

buy from Sinclair

Oh yeah, forgot about Sinclair.

Filled with heavy sand I presume?

Mine has no thick bottom and doesn't track well, and the long ears don't help.

When I bought it I didn't have competitions in my plans. How these plans change quickly ;)

There's also SEB bags from Indonesia. They are on per with the Edgewood bags at a fraction of the price. Importing them from Indonesia from SEB is quick, easy and inexpensive.

Interesting. I didn't know the Seb is from Indonesia. I know the Seb coax front rest is pretty well-known in the BR crowd.

Now I just need to find me some heavy sand. I don't think the local beach has them in stock :D

Heavy Sand? Pffff :D

I've been using Glass Bead (the stuff the road crews put on top of the painted lines to reflect the light). Others use it for bead blasting.

Got mine from the paint store cuz they had some in a pail from a bag that had split open.
