What do you use for lube?

Lub

Formula 1 synthetic motor oil in 5W/30. It is a lot cheaper than any gun oil I have found and I have seen no down signs as yet.

Tw25B Smells great and works like a charm. If it was chosen to work on the M61Vulcan cannon for F15,16,18's than its good enough for me.

I use Hoppe's #9 to clean, and Rem Oil to lube. Have been doing this for years and have had no problems with function or wear.

I like Castrol 10W30 for just about everything. On my IPSC guns I use chainsaw bar lube, and I also have a special mix I use of barlube and synthetic oil that works awesome- it stays in place where it should, not running off as it offers the slickness of a grease, but not as messy in the hands like using too much oil.

Lubriplate No. 10 grease on the rails of my semi-auto pistols and a light coat of Hoppes Elite gun oil for my revolvers (when the bottle runs out, I'm moving to Mobil Synthetic ATF). For my Ruger 10/22 and Mk II, I use Remington Dry Lube (will check out Super Lube when the can runs out, not too many Home Hardware stores out here in the West anymore).

FP-10 after a thorough cleaning. It is a full synthetic but I suppose any synthetic oil would work just as well.

And the rest of the post is more than you ever wanted to know.....

For those who are using synthetic motor oil, it is best to use an old batch or use diesel rated synthetic oil. About 2 years ago the ratings changed and you will see that all car oils say "for use in gasoline engines" or something like that. What they did was take out the zinc (Zinc dithiophosphate) which is an extreme pressure and anti-wear agent. The zinc was removed to make catalytic converters last longer and for environmental reasons. It is still in diesel rated oils because the diesels need it for longevity.
