I have the usual cheap plastic clamshell case that fits a couple pistols. Since I have 5 now I was thinking something that they all could fit in, say hammers and grip up ready to grab rather than the usual laying on the side layered cases I've seen. I'd be willing to cut and glue the foam to fit but the case size and sourcing eludes me.
Mind posting some picks of what u use?
A brand or store you have seen something that might work?
Thanks a bunch for your replies.

#### I'll build you a box out of plywood and cover it with foam... just give me the dimensions. It'd hold your guns up and even have a padlock hasp so you could lock it for transport.

I bought this from eBay. Cheap case with a combo lock. I put some foam in it and used a hot wire to cut out the outline of my guns. Worked out great.

I got a Pelican case cheap from eBay that was used for some camera gear. A little rearrangement of the foam to snug up around the firearms and it works fine. It can be padlocked for transport too.

I used to use an Optek camera case back in the 80's and when I got back into shooting again I went out to Henry's and bought another Optek case for about $99. It has hard dividers that you can use and a removable centre section of foam. You can carve out the shapes of your pistols if you like or just leave it as is and put some under and some on top of the foam. I currently have a 5 1/2" SAA, Walther P22 w/2 mags, GSG 1911 .22 w/2 mags on the bottom; a S&W M&P 9mm w/3 mags and speed loader and SIG 1911 w/speed loader and 2 mags on top. I find no problems putting 4-6 handguns in the case depending on accessories. They now glue the top piece of foam to the lid, but I carefully pulled mine away from the inside of the lid and keep my paperwork inside there (between the lid and top layer of foam). Try some camera shops or e-bay for camera cases.
Walmart sells a cheap copy of my case for around $25 but I found it a bit flimsy feeling. You can also buy almost any briefcase, buy foam and then cut it to fit. Some contact cement or self-adhesive velcro will help hold the foam in place.

If I'm shooting a variety of pistols, I just use a rifle case. Holds all the pistols and extra mags plus whatever else I'm tossing in there. The less cases and crap I have to carry, the better.

I have used this one for years.
Lots of room for gun, ammo and gear.

I don't have pictures of this because I've only thought of it at times.

Picture if you will, a plastic or metal tool box of adequite size. Inside is a bottom layer of 1/2 inch closed cell sleeping mat foam. Bonded to it with Shoe-Goo or similar adhesive are perimeter walls of the same foam. Inside rests a plethora of handguns of all manner and type sitting on their butt plates and barrel tips with separating barriers of the same sleeping mat foam preventing them from rubbing and fondling each other. These interior baffles bonded to the base and one wall for a long enough distance that they are not able to creep up and out of position yet still offer a degree of adjustability..... only in the Twilight Zone.... Such a case is far more easily found and would not require a whole lot of work to adapt. And they don't cost the world like the Pelican or similar options. Yet I've seen quite a few with rain resistant capable seals to protect the "tools".
