What do you use for your Pistol transport case?

My pistol fits very nicely in one of the front pouches. She never leaves the house without friends.

I use an optec camera case.. Same type of foam as the pelicans. If I'm just taking one, I just toss it in with the rifle in its case and throw a pad lock on

I'm using a 5.11 Tactical "Wingman" and two 5.11 pistol bags.

In this configuration I can take 4 pistols, mags, ammo and essential range gear all in one convenient package.

old camera cases are pretty tough and ive seen them used a few times for handgun storage and transport. also they look like camera boxes to everyone else lol, and they lock.

I have the usual cheap plastic clamshell case that fits a couple pistols. Since I have 5 now I was thinking something that they all could fit in, say hammers and grip up ready to grab rather than the usual laying on the side layered cases I've seen. I'd be willing to cut and glue the foam to fit but the case size and sourcing eludes me.
Mind posting some picks of what u use?
A brand or store you have seen something that might work?
Thanks a bunch for your replies.

Pelican cases all the way! Not only for firearms, but also our video and 'other' equipment. You can get them from a bunch of places like Vistek, however check out:

If I'm shooting a variety of pistols, I just use a rifle case. Holds all the pistols and extra mags plus whatever else I'm tossing in there. The less cases and crap I have to carry, the better.

Yup. Take $30, go to Can Tire and pick up a rifle case. Toss in half a dozen pistols or so and head to the range. I like the old hard shell suitcase idea as well.

This one is undoubtedly not as secure as the Pelican case, but carries 4 handguns (2 each side), and has just enough room for 8.5 X 11 targets behind the foam.

Check out the 1470, 1490 and 1495 pelican laptop cases. Make sure to get the ones with lid foam and base pick and pluck foam. The come with their own locks, but are lockable with padlocks as well

Bought it online (in Canada).

h ttp://www.mezzi.com/Black-Aluminum-Briefcases/MEZZI-Black-Aluminum-Gun-Case/

Case does not come with a 'hard' division between the sides. So if you put something in just one side, it 'sinks' into the other side and is not held tight against the foam on the lid.
Packing material included some rigid styrofoam about 1/2 in thick. I cut it to size and placed it under the soft foam to divide the sections. This added just enough 'tension' to firmly secure guns on either or both sides.

Thanks 87cncnu. This will be a perfect size to fit in my motorcycle krauser side bags.

Give you a better idea of the size with a Beretta 92 and a SW 627 Vcomp on one side. The Smith is the largest I have and fits OK.

You can see how I just inserted some of the packing styrofoam between the foam sections. Its just the right thickness to prevent movement of the gun when only one side is occupied, but not so much that you can't close the lids with both sides full.

I bought this from eBay. Cheap case with a combo lock. I put some foam in it and used a hot wire to cut out the outline of my guns. Worked out great.

nice work. A hot wire wire to cut foam? I've heard of people doing that, but I've never seen it done. It sure does nice, clean work with foam according to your pictures. I wish I'd done that with my Pelican case foam, mine is a friggin mess, and I feel even worse because the stupid foam costs nearly $100. Anyway, Here's what I use for my pistol:

The Pelican 1170 came with pick-apart foam so it was a bit neater, I really screwed up my 1750 long case by using an permanent marker, x-acto knife and very little patience:

It looks okay with everything in it, but it looks like an abortion when the guns and mags are out.

I was looking at the Pelican cases when I did a little research and ended up picking up a Nanuk case which after getting mine is similar if not better quality than Pelican at a lower cost. I picked up a 940 and I have 6 pistols in it stored vertically grips down with just the tops of be slides / sights exposed which are covered by the lids foam, just need to make a few more holes to store the mags behind each gun.
