What do you use for your Pistol transport case?

if you swing by walmart in and around the tool department they sell "tool boxes" which are really just large aluminium boxy breifcases. they sell for 20$ and their sturdy as hell. ive got three of them and they hold stuff pretty well. and if your a showman what i did is just bought regular foam and hacked it apart with a knife (having previously traced my guns into it) then i glued it in place, then i layed a piece of silk across the top of it with a little extra so the pistols took up the slack and sat snugly. hope that helps.

I bought this from eBay. Cheap case with a combo lock. I put some foam in it and used a hot wire to cut out the outline of my guns. Worked out great.

Awesome guns! Who cares about a case when u have cool guns like that ;)

Mercury for the win :) :) :D..how do you like the barrel locks (whatever they're called) ?

Visualocks, and they are great. Very easy to install and remove. The only problem I have is contacting the company and getting more. They are always sold out. Plus the shipping is $26. For such a small package that's outrageous.

A Pelican 1400 case or slightly larger sounds like it would fit the bill. I currently use mine to house my pistol and 6 mags but it could easily fit my pistol and 12 mags or about 4 (maybe 5) pistols if they were laid "hammers and grip up" as you wanted. It's also lockable and pressure purging.

Looks like Nanuk 945 is going to be my answer. (http://www.hardcases.ca/products/nanuk-945)
Put an inquiry in on their site last night at 10pm. Got a call this morning from Bruce at www.plasticase.com and says they will sell direct.
Looks like prices are pretty good to, as he quoted me a 945 with cubed foam @ $162. (edit:Turns out this is plus freight of $45 to SK)

Better deal on Hardcases.ca of$149 no foam, less $10 coupon (NANUK10), plus taxes and free shipping= total of $153.

I was looking at the Pelican cases when I did a little research and ended up picking up a Nanuk case which after getting mine is similar if not better quality than Pelican at a lower cost. I picked up a 940 and I have 6 pistols in it stored vertically grips down with just the tops of be slides / sights exposed which are covered by the lids foam, just need to make a few more holes to store the mags behind each gun.

My 1170 cost me $49.99. My 1750 cost $229.99

I currently use a Plano XLT-18 (10089) Four Pistol Case for part of my collection. It'll hold six handguns (maybe more with some mods) if you pack them carefully. Cabelas sells them for $70. It has built-in locks on the latches - they're el-cheapo crap, but they work ok. Good enough to be legal.

I fit a couple more in a Plano Single Pistol Case, sold at Canadian Tire.

One day I'd like to buy a large Pelican or similar kind of case and get them all into one container.

Pelican cases are the ones the pros and military use. The picture is a Pelican 1600 series case, they are pricey but nothing else on the market like them.

Here is the link, I would recommend the 1500 series. Many photography shops carry them like VisTek.

Oh, another thing you don't need to do any "hot-wire" (whatever that is), the Pelicans come with foam you just pluck. You just place you pistol in the foam, mark out the shape and use your fingers to pluck the foam out to the shape of the pistol. Cool eh?

My pistol case came with pick and pluck foam, but my long case didn't. guess it all depends on where you get it and how much you pay.

Yeah. I think it's an option you have to tell them up front. I bought a case and I could have got it with / without wheels, with / without pick & pluck foam, and other types of options.

I think the long case is aweseom and would be perfect w/ the pick & pluck options. Can't go wrong.

I recently picked up a Nanuk 920. Still figuring out how to configure, lots of room - super sturdy case. I think I'll go with the 2 laying flat and make some spots for mags, lights, etc between them. I need to order some spare foam I guess. Maybe I should get another one for my camera too....

Nanuk

I bought the larger of the Nanuk single pistol cases at Wanstalls. However, it fits both my CZ 75 Shadow SP-01 and my Glock 17 Gen 4 as well as all six magazines with room to spare. Incredible case.
