What do you use H335 in?

Well, that was fun...I will try work up a load for the ackley, I will use 140 grain moly coated bullets. it will take a week or so, I will report back. one guy there said he used it in his 280 AI.

Proceed with care.

I have owned, shot a lot, and hunted with two 280 Ackley rifles, a Ruger 77 and a custom on a VZ24, and can tell you from experience that H335 is quite fast to be using in that cartridge. You would be much better served using powders in the IMR4350-Re22 range.

Ted, my ackley is a 6.5 swede, and yes, I know that H335 is a bit fast, and no I am not married to the idea of having it work. I have lots of slow powder too. I have been working up loads for surplus powders for 20 years, and am not concerned that I will blow anything up, I have a chronograph, and I do not seek to exceed reasonable load velocities, and I can tell when things are getting hot. I will moly coat the bullets, and I have a bunch of 92 grain HP bullets for it if I cannot get success with the 140's. I have many pounds of H335, and the time for a science project. I was also surprised to see in the comments in this thread that someone was using H335 in the 280 AI, but who am I to argue with success. If nothing else I can use it for case forming loads. I throw away a bullet when I form cases. I also have an unimproved swede, and I may find a load for that with the 140's. I am a bit of a bullet hoarder, and have several hundred prvi 140's, so I can play for a while. While I do load a couple cartridges to slightly beyond what modern book max loads are, I know that nothing has ever walked away because the bullet was going 200 fps too slow.

I have used the stuff in the .223 from 55 grain PSP's to 64 grain power points with excellent results. Seems to produce very good velocities and accuracy. Measures very well through a meter.

I used it a lot in .223 before I got my hands on a bunch of CFE223.
Now it gets all its use in my 30-30 and I think I used it for a few loads in a 45-70.

I apologize to all for the typo! I meant 37-38 grs of H335. My Lyman Manual and Sam Fadala go up to 39 grs. I started low and worked up - no pressure signs, no sticky cases etc.
