I tried winchester super x 100gr pp it had a 1.5 group at 100yds. I did reload at one time, I'm slowly getting back into it.

My opion of those is garbage !!! but thats just me.I've had too many deer go for a long time before dropping even with a good shot !!!!.I now only go with hornady customs factory loads with 75 gr hollow pnts and there down one shot and have shot up two 350yrs with them out of both a win 88 & 100,running or standing, doesn't matter !!!!. Just my 0.02$ hunting with 243 factory loads for 20 some odd yrs !!!!

I used to shoot the 55 grain ballistic tip out of one of mine. Then 95 grain ballistic tips out of another. I plan to use them again in my new rifle. I love the accuracy I have gotten from them. For factory stuff, I always got good accuracy from Winchesters 100 grain Power Point.

I handload Hornady 100 grain round noses for both my 700 Remmy and 7600 Remmy. Accuracy is decent (around an inch on a good day) The round nose bullet performs well on our big North Western Ontario deer.

My buddy bought a .243 last year, and I didn't' have time to reload for it, so I got him some Federal 85gr TSX ammo. Very accurate, and it was amazingly deadly on deer, on both broadside and frontal shots.

It gave me new respect for the 243, which I have always thought of as a bit "marginal" for deer from past experience with my friends using it.. Good bullets make all the difference.

I have carried and shot the 6mm Remington for 4+ decades now [very similar ballistics to the 243] Shot a lot of deer with it, plus one moose. I have hunted pretty well exclusively with the 95 or 100 grain Partition in a handload, and have never been disappointed in performance, even on shots out at 350 yards or so. A couple of the muleys I shot have been very large bodied deer, but the little 6 puts them right down with a well placed shot and those Partitions. I generally use H4831 or Norma MRP behind the heavier bullets. Regards, Eagleye.

I've never used a factory round in my Rem 7600 but a Hornady 100gr Interlok w/40.5gr IMR 4350 gives -.75" groups @ 100yd & is deadly out to 300+ on flagtails & mules. Never tried anything else 'cause why fix what ain't broke.

I had a 243 for several years. I only ever used the cheap, Winchester, 100 grain softpoints from Wal-Mart or Canadian Tire. Always shot well under an inch, and in most cases would group 5 shots under a dime at 100. I could never bring myself to bother reloading for this cartridge.
