What do you use to transport your rifle?

I happen to like 2gun aluminum cases. People at the range seem to expect a more expensive gun to come out of a metal case for some reason. I've had this mentioned to me. Buy a decent case and it will last a long time. Name tag fell off mine and I cant remember what it is. Over 15 years old a few character dings. Makes a good hand gun case too.

Cabela's armor extreme cases are actually very nice for way you pay for them. I carry my 3 gun setup I one of their double wide cases (16" barrel AR, 28" barrel shotgun, and a pistol). They're close in quality to a pelican, but a very small fraction of the cost.

Is the case deep enough to fit a rifle with a big scope? Is the foam inside the kind you can pluck to fit the rifle in?

I have a single rifle armour case. The case itself is good but I had to swap out the foam in order to take a rifle with any scope. I can now carry a scope with a 56mm objective.

Canadian Tire Huntshield case. They are made by Plano. They have two different sizes. Wait for them to go on sale.

Pelican 1750, on the upgrade list for longer trips is a pelican 1770. I have seen the skb case and like it too, but the 1770 wins out due to shipping costs for me

I picked up a couple of Aluminium Grizzly cases, a couple of Kolpin cases and a plastic Doskocil case, all are very good and lockable.

Drag Bag

Buy a drag bag, it will protect your firearm and gear just fine. Pelican ect cases are too bulky imo, I have one just never use it. The only good reason for a pelican cases is air travel or if you need to put it in the back of a pickup truck.

The OP didn’t state there is a budget but asked for good protection, so Pelicans and Nanuks are good starting points.
I have Pelican for rifle storage. For transport I use my sling to walk to my back field ;)

Drag bag and Nanuk case. The Nanuk are quite nice, nicer in fit and finish than pelican in my opinion. I prefer the drag bag for the weight savings and extra pockets for smaller items. Pelicans can take one hell of a beating though.
