what do you wanna see from Norinco next?

How about an inglis Hi Power copy/clone with the detachable wood shoulder stock? Since Norinco already makes a hi power clone, they'd just have to replace the sight with a tangent sight and machine the frame to accept the stock (I would presume this would be pretty easy).

I would like to see them go bust, and stop the flow of the junk they sell.

Hmmm... selling competitive guns keeps other manufacturers competitive too. I would hate to see what ARs would cost if they didnt have to compete with a 700$ Norc.
And dont kid yourself, the armalite, bushmaster, Core, NEA, ect... are not that much better of a gun for functionality.

Remember, Just because you have a top of the line weapon system, does not mean that a milsurp round from an old rusty rifle with a bent sight wont be what ends your life.

NR Norinco Kriss Vector copy in .45 and 9mm

I have not looked, but I am guessing would have already mentioned. If not, I will mention it anyhow.

How about a carbine length (18.5" barrel), bolt-action rifle, much like a 22 rimfire, perhaps stainless, that is chambered in 9mm, 40 s&w, and/or 45 ACP?

Of course, the 9mm and 40 S&W would take Glock mags, and the 45 ACP would accept 1911 mags.

I think this would be a hit with all the handgun owners out there.

And here I was thinking I wouldn't have anything to add to this thread...

I'm throwing my hat in with this sentiment too. There seems to be a lack of any (available) kind of bolt action rifle in pistol caliber that would be suitable for plinking. Besides being cheaper to shoot, what I was thinking of was mainly the large number of indoor "pistol caliber only" ranges that are out there. Or even just shorter ranges where rifle caliber ammo would be a waste.

Plenty of semi-auto pistol caliber carbines out there already, this would have a similar use.

Maybe something that would allow you the choice of both iron sights or picatinny mounted optics. It's not practical by any means but just for giggles or when you want a bigger bang than a 22LR.

The M6 Scout suggestion is a no-brainer. I like that idea as well.

John,

If we could start a pre-order for say 2,000 on any of the suggestions (my big picks would be a swiss arms clone or a G36 clone) and once that list fills up ask everyone for a $100 pre-order fee that would be $200,000 would that be enough for Norinco to start up production on a $1,000 or less rifle?

More ammo for sure, including:

1) 5.56 (maybe even steel case if it's cheap enough)
2) 7.62x51
3) NC 7.62x39
4) Better quality .22LR ammo
5) Other common calibers like 9para, .45acp

Spare parts, mags and accessories for some of their more interesting models like the M1000 (and if that one was built to be more mechanically reliable) - I'd buy that gun in a heartbeat, even have it tuned by a smith, if I could get some mags for it and possibly put on an adjustable stock.

Type 97 chambered in 7.62x39, 6.5 Grendel, 6.8SPC
