What do YOU want in a magazine???

Hold that thought gents. There is a new product that should be released in the next couple of months. I have only seen pics but no info, details, pricing or ETA.

however, it will be an AR looking mag with a 10/22 banana inside. Obviously, it would have to be much wider then a conventional AR mag.

I will post info whenever it gets to me.

For now, cut and paste the AR mag to a factory 10 rd mag. That will solve the craving for a non banana mag.

Even then, it probably wouldn't be released for the 597 OR the Marlin 795, which is what I want. :):D

Meh......MP5 looking DOUBLE STACK.

I cant figure out why no one is doing a doublestack 22 magazine....kel tec has done it for the PMR30 in .22 mag, so it's definitely doable

This.

10/22 would have at least 50 round mags if double stack.

Back to the straight mag thought... I think it would be possible to have a slightly bent mag (not curved) that would overlap the rims and allow for successful feeding. By the way, I am not an expert with CAD/CAM, so if anyone who really knows how to use it to full advantage wants to chime in, it would be awesome.

I would be very happy with a 15-20 rd mag that look like an AR mag for my 10/22. Hell I would take a 10 rd mag as long as it performed great. Im think it would be tough to make a 25 rd mag that looks like an AR mag, maybe less rounds would make it work like a 15 or 20 rounder.Less rounds , less banana style.

I am surprised this has not already been done yet. What the fvck are companies waiting for??? This has been an issue for a long time now..
We dont want fvcking stupid looking bannanas anymore.lol.

Valid point. Right now it is a 10/22 world BUT they did make some new stuff for the Rem 597 and it is actually pretty good.

Got a new 25rds mag for the 597 and it looks more robust then other brands.

They are making "AR looking" 25rds for the AR kits so to make others would not be a stretch.

Injection molding seems to be a license to print money these days

'Tis true. Everything must be mall-ninjatastic! Not that I have a problem with that...

This would likely never be produced, but, I'd love a 20 to 30 round mag built for the Baikal MP-161K. It would have to be a banana because it uses a single stack setup, but I don't care on how it looks too much. I get tired of reloading the mags every 9 shots.

It also has to have the load assist slider that the stock mags have.

Really the market demand for a hi cap mag for the 10/22 and 597 setups has been a long standing one. ALso mags for the newer savage bolts in .22 and .17 hmr is another open area to exploit. I have no idea why manufacturers think this is such a small market when people are willing to hot glue or epoxy a $30 mag and another $30-40 dollar mag together. That is a $50-60 cost, that means the market could bear an AR looking mag for the price of $35-45 bucks a piece. Also the sales volume could be rather large. THe only issue is being able to mass prouce before another manufacturer took aim at the market. The key is to develop it, test the #### out of it, make sure it performs, mass produce and sell the hell out of it. There is alot of money burning holes in pockets in North America for something like this.

Why has there really been no new development in sporting firearms in the last 50yrs?

Toblerone barrels and shiney actions don't count :)

The market is wide open to new products. And we are starting to see some new companies step out to try their hand at changing the market place.

The application costs for a US patent is in the 10 to 20K range USD$ for us Canucks.

how deep are your pockets?

Jerry

How deep, well I am a journeyman mechanic with 15 years in. my investment is monthly, training yearly, and all paid by me since non of it is claimable. 10-20K is alot less than what I have invested in tools alone. Deep pockets is a lame excuse for not believeing in the idea and stepping up. It is probably going to be a better return than my RRSP's get? Everyone waits for someone else to do it, well after a couple decades we may see something this year.......not holding my breath. If it comes out for the 10/22 or 597 VTR I will be one of the first in line for them. I was one of the first for the GSG 1911, Keltec, and I will do it again if these mags come out. My money awaits.
