What does $149.99 get you these days?

Don't know why some people here don't like it. To me that is a great deal. I recall similar deals(all gun truck or old LE sell off) from various dealers incl CRAFM for similar price. Can't go wrong with a solid old Wingmaster.

The breech block looks clean, I don't mind the 'weathered patina look' and if one didn't, it's easy to blast and parkerise or gunkote. My only concerns would be checking the lock bars for smooth action and wear but those too can be replaced for cheap.

This is a Brinks gun I picked up from Casey a couple of years ago. It was Butt ugly when I got it. Like I said they have been thrown around a lot and shot not so much. Some TLC is all they need.

These are ex-Brinks guns. Having been a Brinks guy myself in days gone by I can attest to the fact these were carried lots, shot never. In fact when I was hired my shotgun "training" involved bring able to rack the slide, flip the safety, and pull the trigger within 1 second, dry fire. The whole time I worked there we never fired a single round of 12 gauge in training.

I finally got her torn down today and gave her a good once over with some G96 and paper towels. Everything was very clean, some evidence of having been fired a couple of times. Cleaned up nicely and the action is slick as butter now! The top folder has a fair bit of surface rust on the inside which should blast out and reblue nicely. Going to replace the forend but haven't decided on what kind yet. I'd like to find the same type it's wearing but in better shape.

I really like the look of a regular mag tube with an 18" barrel, something about that classic police look, but I'm going to look at +1 extensions which should give it a nice hybrid appearance. Any recommendations?

Casey makes a plus one extension that is excellant, I have 3 on my guns, and they are steel not alluminum

The first picture of the forened doesn't look too bad...if the other side has no major chips you can just sand it down a bit, steam out any dents if you wish and then clean up the traction slots with something like a hacksaw blade. Stain if you want and re-oil with tung oil or Boiled Linseed Oil.

I bought a similar condition work gun a few years ago with a worse looking foreend that cleaned up nicely. I had a chance to get one with the folder but they have a reputation for discomfort so I swapped it out for a walnut police stock.
Those LEO folders aren't that great but some people search them out just for the authentic look of a classic duty gun.

I have a TacOrd as well as a Wilson Combat. I think TacOrds are probably lighter but I find the build quality of the Wilson Combat nicer.

Unfortunately the traction slots on the right side have been chewed away and I don't think the handguard is salvageable for restoration. You could probably try to sand it but I think it would end up taking off too much wood and ruin the aesthetic. I'm exploring the different options out there.

Yes I've that as well, haven't had the pleasure to try yet. I figured even if I decided to ditch the folder it was worth at least what I paid for the gun so it was more of an investment decision. I do like the look though!
