What does a rifle say about its owner?

The chances of a random Weatherby shooter at the range being a prick seem to be higher than average. Put a Swarovski on the weatherby and you can bet your last box of primers on it.

Man I would love a Weatherby Ultra light in 300 win mag with a Swarovski scope. Although I see what you mean. There is always one guy. I met a guy with a Ruger SS in 300 WSM and he knew EVERYTHING and any rifle that wasn't like his was crap.

I own Sako, Tikka, Savage, CZ ( pistol), Winchester and Cooey. Mixed bag of brands but in general I do like the European made rifles better than the ones made in the US.

What mine say about me?

I may be short, but I've got a full length barrel:D

Not to hijack, but how do you compare the 2000 and the RFB (chamberings aside)? I really enjoyed reviewing the KSG, I'm a self-confessed Fudd and I loved that gun, I was shocked to find it's a metal gun with a synthetic stock and foreend like any other "defender" shotgun. Was picturing stucturally plastic, with metal working parts, but it was metal on metal.

As for the FS2000 and the RFB. They have both performed flawlessly for me as well. The FS2000 is my 3-gun rifle and the RFB will be my hunting rifle as soon as I get out and do some hunting. Both are very easy to carry around, very well balanced.

Oddly enough, I have a Weatherby Ultralightweight in .300 Win Mag, although it was originally a .300 Weatherby until AC Douglas rebarrelled it. It doesn't have a Swarovski, but I like to think that the big honkin' 3.5-10 X50 VXL-3 with illuminated reticle is just as big a cliche in its own way.:) We have fun laughing about lookin' like a walking stereotype.

In the first bit of use it managed to tip over 11 big game animals, includeing some muskox,a sheep, red stags (568 yards for one), Indian blackbuck, a pig, some kind of particularily smelly goat and my son's first moose. Well, his only moose actually. Should probably give it to him, someday.

I don't like being that stupid ####### that only buys the one brand of guns and then goes off all the time about how much better their guns are than everyone elses even though they have never tried that persons rifle or that brand of rifles but, CZ just makes everything I want.

I never owned a Cooey Model 60, but I have one now.
And I think I know where there is a tree oh tree for a brown one.
It's a short little ting.
Even has the link to hold the mag to the receiver.
Need to pense this out and find a brown one.

A few years ago I was invited to an out of wee town range.
A chap shows up with a couple, maybe three Weatherby's.
He did dun me proud.
They were beat to rat chit.......... :D
S.O.B. could shoot them tarnishe critters too.
He took the Rod Stewart right outta them.

Now I'm insulted...... :p

Wait a minute, I don't go to a range............. :dancingbanana:

Syn/SS Bee's don't count...if its glossy and blued, I'll bet my weeks pay on him being a prick :D

Oh wait, I don't go to public ranges either...so really I'll never find out.

By the way, whats that chambered in?

Depends who's "reading" the rifle.....but someone could no doubt tell you what your favorite numbers are and how big your hands are, what you like to eat, when you were born, how old you are and what kind of woman you are going to mary from a gun......
;). Probably find your picture, drivers license, address and a whole bunch of other stuff too.
So guns say a lot about the owner......

I'm a Remington/Savage fan. Not the finest out of the box, but tough and easily modified. Blocky actions and ugly stocks, but they don't rust, strip, jam, cost a whole paycheque. Also, the low end Rem/Savs aren't even close to the high enders, which are comparable to Brownings and Tikkas. Does Chev make Cadillac, or does Cadillac make Chev?

My favourite list of gun trolling...

I'm pretty open minded about guns, but whenever I see a pump action shotgun with a pistol grip and NO stock... I assume the individual is more concerned with how they'll look in their rap video than how to shoot.

It's a 257. I don't own any woody Weatherbies, my opinion of the Lazermark et al is just slightly better than that of a queer socialist. :)

Sorry, thought this was hunting and sporting arms forum...

the m14platform still fits; esp the shorty- a lot of them wear scopes and are in effect true "hunting" rifles alabeit heavy hunters- 5 round mag, no bayonet lug and scoped- that's a 'HUNTING ' rifle
