What does BDL stand for?

While yapping with my wife about rifles,my wife asks me What kind of rifle is your 30.06?I tell her it is a Remington model 700 BDL LH.She asks me what does the BDL stand for?O.k. help me out guys you might as well tell me what the Adl stands for as well since that was brought up also.Thanks

adl = a model deluxe....has an internal magazine
bdl = b model deluxe....has a hinged floor plate or detach magazine.

thats it.

BDL is for B Deluxe..

ADL is for A Deluxe..

There were 721/722 BDL's and they did not have floorplates...it was when the 700 was introduced that the BDL and ADL were separated by this difference...but just having a floorplate on a 700 does not make it a BDL..there are many models like the VS, VSSF,Mountain Rifles etc...these are not BDL's just because they have a floorplate.

Well Eagleye, we're both familiar with the REMINGTONS, and a while back I recall someone saying that BIGRED doesn't exist!!!!!!!!!!! Bill.
As for the designation of 700 ADL & BDL they are simply model (numbers&letters). But they are accurate.
