What does it cost to ship ammo, and what is the legal way?

Your only real option is CanPar, you should be able to get a rough quote on their website. www.canpar.ca

A case of 500, 168 gr 308 Win shipped from Ottawa to Vancouver cost me $62 through Canpar. Hopefully that will give you some idea of rough cost. Take the ammo to the Canpar office for a quote is the only precise option. Good luck.
