What does my Norc CQA need?

I think this is the first time I have created a thread, so go easy on me lol. I bought my buddy's CQA off of him. Came with Magpul stock, pistol grip and stubby grip, as well as 3 Marstar 5/30 rnd mags, and a flip up rear site (not sure of the manufacturer). I bought a cheap flashlight for it just for look cool factor. I also purchased a generic aluminum quad rail which fits great.

My plan is to get a reasonably priced open red dot sight from Erie Trackers for $100 to basically finish off the outside (and maybe a few more Marstar Mags).

My question is, what should be swapped out on the internals to make the rifle a better shooter? I have heard the springs, but which ones?

I am open to any and all suggestions.

The only thing it needs inside of it is ammo and lots of it

Yup, our two M4's from Marstar keep running & running... Only mods, pink furniture for my wife's gun & GG&G qd mounts with Elite 6500 1.25-8x32 scopes. FUN GUNS!

Cheers

lol thanks guys! So are the Norc springs reasonably made and reliable?

Never had an issue when I had a Norc and it always shot just fine. Aside from fit and finish, as a recreational shooter, I didn't really notice too much of a difference from my NA made AR's to the Norc I used to have.

LAR-15 or those new mags from Alberta Tactical. Five round mags suck; ten rounders are where is at. That, and lots of ammo as others have said. My Norinco is a hungry beast. I find myself picking up 5.56 NATO everytime I'm at the store.

A better shooter? Please don't take me wrong or think I'm trolling here, but frankly its going to shoot really as best as its shooting now, unless you get a new barrel, a new upper with free float, and a new lower with a timney or geiselle, a good quality red dot (think aimpoint or eotech) with its corresponding magnifier.

I have a CQA with the 14.5 barrel. I stuck a 4x32 scope on it for a while just to see how it shot. I have to say I was pretty happy with how accurate it is. I shoot at a 200 M range and it can reliably hit what I want at those distances. I'm not a real bench rest kind of shooter so I couldn't tell you the size of groups, but clay pigeons turn to dust with relative ease. I've since but a mini red dot on it. And it's a lot of fun to shoot. No failures with it so far.
How you can make it shoot better? I really couldn't say. If I were you I'd just shoot it till you can talk your self into spending more money a different gun.

Instead of buying more 5 round mags, get some LAR-15 pistol mags or the ATRS 10/20 polymer pistol mags. Both offer 10 round capacities instead of 5 for slightly more fun before you have to reload. Instead of spending a bucket of money for upgrades on what is essentially a bargain rifle, just do the 15 minute trigger job (google will find that for you) and then buy lots of mags and ammo and try to wear it out.

ATRS mags, and ammo - great big piles of ammo. The problem with the AR is that they go through ammo like fat kids go through smarties. The worst thing you can do is not take enough ammo to the range with an AR - you run out and you're at the range, with an AR, without ammo, jonesing like an addict looking for a fix - going through your gear bags, checking the trunk of the car on the off chance a box came out of your bag. Pretty sad sight really.
