What does Pre B mean??

Pre B CZ75's differ from the 75B's in a few ways. The main difference is they lack a firing pin block (hence the B). The triggers on the Pre B's are considered better. The hammer widths are different, sights are different, mags are often not interchangeable. Most parts are interchangeable apart from a few exceptions. Cosmetically, the Pre-B's have a spur hammer and a rounded trigger guard and vertical slide serrations as opposed to angled. The Pre B's sometimes had a blued finish. They say 'Made in Czechoslovakia' on them (I like that they were made in a country that no longer exists). As far as value, they are not rare enough to have an overly inflated price. I just bought one recently for a very reasonable price. To me they are a classy gun and very appealing but many would rather have a 75B due to possible parts issues.

Doing what I do best and what is that? Muddy the water. How, so? My first CZ is a transition model, it is between a CZ75 and a CZ75B. What does that mean? I haven't a clue but it is one fine pistol. Regards, Richard:D

Or it could mean "Pre Ban" when it comes to firearms and or parts that entered Canada before they were banned. I've seen this with AR-15's.

Pre-Ban is a US term for the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 in which bayonet mounts, flash suppressors and pistol grips were deemed to be parts of an assault weapon and were deleted off most AR15's, AK47's and all other rifles deemed non sporting. The AR-15's imported into Canada during the 10 years that the Assault Weapon Ban lasted were Export/Law Enforcement Weapons which had all the evil features. My last 3 AR15's all were marked Export/Law Enforcement and had been made before the Assault Weapons Bill sunsetted in Sept. 2004 and had all the evil features such as 6 position stocks, really short threaded barrels and whatnot.

Looks like a beauty Richard. At least we know what a Pre B is eh? ;) Mine is an '86, stock with a blued finish. I have some wood grips on order that I think will finish it off nicely. Here's a pic.
