Hello,

I'm pretty sure the age of my Belgian shotgun is 1933, 30", 12 ga., 2 3/4". Now trying to figure out if it's safe to use modern ammo. I'll be taking it to a gunsmith soon (likely to Epps).

I still have a few things I can't ID. T10 and 22 on the underside of the barrel.

If you want to see pictures, it can be found from this thread: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=362691

Thanks!

Could be anything.
"...F & M shotgun..." Likely Full and Modified chokes.
"...ELG inside a nice looking egg..." Proof marks.
"...safe to use modern ammo...." It might, I say again might be chambered for 2.5" ammo as opposed to 2.75" ammo.
Damascus is highly unlikely. That was 19th Century technology. Long gone by 1933. Gone by 1924 too. If when you look in the barrels, it has spirals, it is though. Mind you, it's usually evident on the outside too and that one has a nice smooth exterior.

Thx for the info!

One thing I can add (not visible in the pic) is that 12-70 is stamped on the barrel. It should be 2.75", without I doubt.

I agree, Damascus is unlikely. I can't see any spirals at all. Inside and outside.
