What else besides a 30-06?

Go with a .25/06 or a .35 Whelen first... and then the other second... three rifles all on the /06 case, .25, .30, .35... for all that NA has to offer... cool... for more spread, go with light bullets in the .25/06 and heavy bullets in the .35 W, and 165's or 180's in the .30/06.

I like Boomer's .223/.30-06/.375 H&H idea, or get a different rifle in .30-06. A heavy barreled .308 might at least share bullets.

My vote has to go for a GOOD 22lr. It gets shot more than any other in my collection. A great practice tool to improve your shooting. And finally it is less $$ than any other with most target ammo.

I believe I have found what I was looking for in term of advice! I believe my next purchase will have a string on it. Not sure on whether it will be a crossbow or bow.

I'm moving the discussion in this other thread, because I have many questions about bows/crossbows. If you have ever done either, I'd welcome your advice/views!

12 gauge. 30-06 is universal enough to cover all the basis for your centerfire adventure.

7 mm is also a good caliber
