New to EOTECHs, what do you guys think would be the best pairing with a stock Bushmaster e2s xm15, taking into account price/fictionality of the xm15?

Thx

Nate

I use a 512 on my AR. I have plenty of real estate on the rail so the extra length isn't an issue, and I like the fact it uses common AA batteries rather than lithium shorties. I know they went to the transverse battery mounts to reduce shock and potential contact breakage, but I've not had a problem despite three years of weekly abuse of my carbine.

The reticle on most of the EoTechs is the same, with the 65 MOA Donut of Death and 1 MOA precise point, though there are a few different ones if you look for them. If you're using it for CQB/100m or less the standard reticle should serve you well.

Ive been looking at the EXPS 3, save space for a magnifier if I need and I like the idea of a mil dot reticle .

I hear what you're saying, but my days of being deployed to shoot in -40/122 degree weather are well past me... As such the apparent deficiencies don't particularly apply. I still find the Donut of Death the fastest to use for competition, and preferable to single points like the Aimpoint.

That said, these issues might drive EoTech prices down...

This.

Because?

Well, if the rifle's fictional, I'd suggest not wasting money buying an eotech. Kinda pointless to have a nice optic and only an imaginary gun!

Aside from the temperature issues there is also the inconsistent tracking issues, the intermittent turning off issues as well as random dimming issues(check online for sources of these issues). Even if the optic functioned properly, it is far larger and heavier than an Aimpoint and very close in cost. A fool would buy a larger heavier inferior optic for the same price as the polar opposite.

I've abused mine, and been party to the abuse of many XPS series. They've all stood up. Not saying there haven't been some with issues, but none I've seen.

The glass is bigger, and for me the donut of death reticle is much faster. Speed matters in my disciplines.

I'm a fan of the 65 MOA ring that Eotech uses, I just am not a fan of a large heavy unreliable optic. There is little difference between an Eotech and an Aimpoint where speed is concerned. It just takes a little getting used to and an open mind. The larger window is a gimmick, reddot sights are to be shot with both eyes open with your focus on the target not the dot. If you do that there is no difference between any of the reddots.

I've abused my T1 and know many others who have as well. All boring and continuing to function as advertised. In fact, I think a well known instructor/SME tossed one from a helicopter and blew it up and it still worked as well...

I used to have both, but keep the T1, not because of the quality issues since I dont abuse my toys so no real experience on both sights regarding its durability. The reason I kept the T1 its because of its size, especially the width, we all all know that when using a RDS we dont look at the dot but on the target and impose the dot on it with both eyes open, With the T1 mounted on the receiver ( AR) the sight body doesnt partially cover the target unlike the Eotech with wider body.
