My Milsurp collection starts off with two India Pattern Brown Bess (War of 1812) right up to FN''s with a good smattering of rare birds in between.

I like to concentrate on Canadian connections, but I veer off course in all directions.

I'm very partial to the Fenian Raid era of firearms, along with Sniders, Martini Henry, WW1, WW2 Enfields,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

U.S. Civil War carbines and long arms,,,,,,,,,,,

God, I could go on forever.

Where do the rest of my fellow Milsurp collectors start or concentrate on?

Yah, I'm bored with my @ss parked here in Florida!

My earliest at the moment is 1891. My interests at the moment is WWI/early smokeless powder firearms, and Swiss firearms. I still do get side tracked off those two goals, and have a fair bit I would like to own which don't specifically fall into those catagories (like say a M95M, or a Hungarian M35), but for the most part have managed to keep on track with those areas (having sold off a fair bit that doesn't fit those catagories).

As mentioned I don't really have a interest in dewats, but to each their own. At some point I want to try some black powder, but I am somewhat afraid to as that is another area to shift my expenses. Specifically a P53 would be pretty interesting, but who knows. I still have many years ahead of me for collecting, so I can wait a bit before I go anywhere else.

All of my milsurps are Swiss. Trying to keep the collection in order. It is definitely a good idea to stay on one path instead of just buying random stuff here and there that you don't know too much about. Oldest in the collection is the Swiss Vetterli 69/71, manufactured by Waffenfabrik Bern in their first production year (1875). - oh forgot to mention- the most recent piece in my collection is the M1957 pattern Bayonet for the Swiss Stgw 57.

Currently I am collecting semiautomatic rifles of WW2 and Korea. I have my German and Soviet examples, but i'm waiting for a nice Korean era M1 to pop up to round out my collection (perhaps an FN 49 down the road). After that im shifting back to WW1 (I really need a ross rifle!)

My milsurps start in 1936 with my K31 and end in 55/56 with a SKS.

The other ones are a '39 Mosin-Nagant 91/30, a sportered Savage No4 Mk1 and a Long Branch No4 Mk1*.

(I'm not including the .22LR versions of the M1 Carbine and StG44 I have).

US Civil War to WW2, although I'd but something earlier if it caught my eye. I'm very much a generalist, I like to have a diverse collection. Almost all military but I have a few civilian guns that caught my interest, espescially from the 1920s/1930s gangster era.
