I have been reading this forum trying to figure out exactly what I have here, it was left to me with no information on it, besides it being a Lee Enfield .303. I'd like to have a better idea for a value on it as I won't be shooting it.
I'm assuming this pic means the gun was a factory refurb done in 1945?
I wasn't able to get any more decent pics of stampings with my camera, so I will describe them as best I can.
On the bottom of the trigger gaurd there is the ISI3I stamp which I believe means made in Indonesia? On the front metal barrel band is stamped IS234.
On the top of the stock has Made In England stamped in the wood.
It has matching serial numbers stamped on the barrel and at the end of the bolt. Under the stamp on the barrel is .303'2-22" with a small stamp in front of that that almost looks like the head of a Tucan bird. (to me anyways). The other serial number stamp has what looks to be a small crown stamped into the steel.
On the opposite side of the rifle from the serial numbers are matching stamps with BRI in the middle and P underneath. There is another stamp just above the stamp on the barrel which looks to be 01 and SA G. There is also one more stamp in that area that says F25.
Sorry if those are terrible explanations, maybe I will have to get a better camera to help clear things up if any of that is confusing. I just want to make sure I have all my facts for perspective buyers. Any idea on value? Thanks a lot fellas.
